After settling with Vivid for a reported $5million, Vivid was allowed to re-release the tape. As a means of promoting their new TV reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim agreed to pose in mid 2007 for a Playboy cover and pictorial with a photographer-video director friend. Playboy Publisher Hugh Hefner found that shooting not in the Playboy style and under the pretense of reshooting a new cover ordered a new pictorial be produced. At the time of reshooting Kim’s cover, the Kardashians nor Wayda did not know a new pictorial shooting had been ordered by Hef. During the cover shooting Wayda was told by the art director he not only had to reshoot the cover, but was tasked with talking Kris Jenner, Kim’s mother who was on set for the cover shooting, into a full pictorial shooting. Wayda, having not planned for a pictorial production, had no set, no wardrobe, no styling nor any idea. what Hef wanted. When Wayda approached Jenner with “his” idea to shoot more pictures Kris’ answer was an emphatic NO. Wayda then talked, conjolled and seemingly charmed Kris into making a deal. Suggesting he would set up a white seamless background, find some wardrobe in the styling office, he asked Kris to allow him two test images for her to review…one to see what he had in terms of set and lighting, and one frame of Kim on set. If Kris or Kim did not like what they saw on the 36-inch monitor, he would acquiesce to their decision to end the shooting. Liking what they saw on the second image, Wayda was allowed to proceed with his first improvised setup. When the first setup finished, Wayda suggested another setup. Kris again replied, NO. Wayda again offered his deal of allowing him two images on the screen before deciding to call it quits. Kris and Kim like the second setup and the shooting continued. This back and forth continued for two more setups, Kris saying NO, Wayda asking for the opportunity to show two images on the monitor. Hef got what he wanted, but in order to mollify the Kardashian he agreed to include some pictures from Kim’s photographer friend in the pictorial.
