Description
This art is a digital recreation of Marilyn Monroe’s iconic pose standing on a subway grate with her white dress blowing upwards as Tom Ewell watches in the 1955 movie “The Seven Year Itch.” Marilyn Monroe had a special place in Hef’s heart, as it was Monroe that launched Playboy in 1953. An original publicity still, 8-inch x 10-inch, of Monroe and Ewell was found, and then used for the basic background. Notice the studio files numbers in the lower right corner. Crystal was photographed in the studio on white seamless background paper, her dress tossed in the air as a studio fan blew her dress upward depicting the same iconic pose. Monrow was digitally removed and Crystal was placed in her spot. Tom Ewell was left in place, with his head being exchanged for an image of Hef I had in archives. The framed and signed print was presented to Hef at his annual “Casablanca” themed, white dinner jacket birthday party held at the Playboy Mansion.
